On 27 August 2021, the Cauca River in the north of Colombia flooded, causing serious damage to five municipalities in La Mojana subregion. The flooding was a result of atypical rains during August and a rupture in a dam that functioned as a retaining wall for the river, affecting all municipalities of the subregion.

On 1 July, a phreatomagmatic eruption was recorded from the main crater of the Taal Volcano, approximately 70km south of central Manila. High levels of volcanic sulfur dioxide emissions and steam-rich plumes were generated from the main crater. The Taal Volcano island is currently considered a danger zone.

On 25 May, a severe cyclonic storm over the west-central Bay of Bengal moved northwestwards and intensified into a very severe cyclonic storm. Over 20 million people in Maharashtra State live in densely populated informal constructions.
